Its been over a year now that I can call myself a Hilary Devey Diamond mattress owner, so it is definitely the best time to share my thoughts about this handmade perfection. After hours of searching around to find our new mattress, I bumped into a list of the best ones you can buy in the UK. Where I found a particular mattress from the Hilary Devey collection which is made by a Yorkshire based luxury company for soft furnishing, Duvalay. Which also won the Independent Newspaper's BEST BUY award.
The other important part to consider is the springs. I wanted something firm but also comfortable, I wouldn't like to feel the springs when I turn during the nights. But WHO WOULD?
I also prefer when I don’t sink with my entire body into a mattress like on the foam. The best solution for this is the pocket springs.
This baby has 2000 nested pocket springs. Own individual pockets of fabric, therefore, they have very limited interaction with each other which means they respond independently to each other. Helps to spread your weight evenly, provides quick responsive support while you are asleep.
My boyfriend used to struggle to fall asleep as he suffered from lower back pain for a long time.
However, after his first night sleeping on this mattress, the pain has highly reduced.
A couple of weeks later all the pain has finally gone.

I know what you are thinking, you must try before you buy especially when this is one of the most used items in your bedroom actually in your entire home. That's exactly how I felt!
However, reading just good reviews definitely helped to make my mind up.
Buying a mattress it can be a tricky decision because there are lots of things to consider.
The first important thing is the budget. There are several different prices out there, and of course, I didn’t want to spend my whole savings on it, but I also didn’t want to end up with a cheap version. So I could easily find myself in the same situation after a year or two hunting down another mattress.
That's another hassle and wasting money when I could spend that on a nice pair of shoes.:)( yes I definitely like that idea.!)We all spend most of our lives in bed so figured why wouldn’t I invest a bit more for something I would use the most.
Let’s be honest we always get what we pay for. That's why this premium Hilary Devey was in the perfect price range for me.
My favourite thing about this beauty is the damask fabric. I really wish I would not need to cover it up with anything. There are several deep layers of natural fillings with the most luxurious materials on both sides.
The fillings are hand applied which include the finest wool, cotton, silk and wonderfully soft cashmere layer on the top. (could you get anything better?)
I just love changing the sheets so I can touch the ultra-soft fabric on the top. (haha)
Other features of this mattress are:
Excellent at wicking moisture away.
Hypoallergenic.
Also added air vents to the border, keeping it cool and breathable.
There are handles on the sides to aid movement when required.
This is a turnable mattress, needs to flip over once per season. Cotton side for summer and Wool side for winter.
Comes with a full 10 year guarantee period
There is only one bad thing I have found, is the weight of this mattress.
Extremely heavy!
But that just shows how well made and comfortable this is with all the layers and don’t forget the 2000 springs.
