How I wrapped this year’s Christmas presents

How I wrapped this year’s Christmas presents

Months before the holiday season I start planning the Christmas tree theme this way I can decide on a palette of two or three colours for the rest of the decorations and on how I'm going to wrap the presents.
After wrapping the gifts, I like to pile them under the tree to create a little festive corner in our home where I can keep going back every day until Christmas and feel like a little girl on that magical morning.
I created a Nordic-themed Christmas in our home with traditional red and white decorations last year. You can read about the Nordic Tree by clicking here, or you can check out my
Christmas gift wrapping ideas from last year here.

After a traditional Scandinavian theme, I wanted to create something a bit more different.
Keeping it festive I kept white as the base added a bit of sparkle with silver and threw some blue into the combo. Holiday colours don't typically include blue, but as we placed the tree into the newly refurbished dining room, I wanted to follow the palette of the room.

One of my favourite Christmas chores is wrapping presents and it's always on the top of my list. I genuinely can't understand how others can't find joy in it. I often asked by others to wrap their presents and of course I don't mind because I LOVE it.

There's no denying that Christmas is all about giving and whatever thoughtful gift you decide to give to your loved ones they will be more than happy to receive them.
However, there is a way to make the gesture even more meaningful by wrapping those presents beautifully. There are many different ways to make your family and friends smile before they even open their gifts. Believe me, they will be taking their time opening them instead of tearing right into it.
You might think that dressing your presents up with beautiful papers and bows isn't a straightforward task and it can only be done perfectly by experts in the store.
No, it can be quickly and easily done by any beginners.
Trust me on this.

During this magical time of the year, you may be inspired to go all out with every aspect as I do and you might feel like that a simple wrapping paper with a stick-on bow won't do the trick then let me show you how I wrapped these gifts for my loved ones this year.
Keep reading because I will be sharing some of my tips and tricks in the post.

When Disney made Frozen, it made me want to have a winter wonderland at home just like that. As we just finished the dining room where the colour combination is grey, blue and a hint of white reminded me that this is the perfect time to have that Frozen themed Christmas that I always wished for.
To bring that fairy tale live, I used colour combination like icy blue, snowy white and sparkling silver to keep it as festive as possible.
Something about blue in the winter gives that cold icy feel but yet again somehow it also feels warm.
To match everything together, I stuck to these three colours and some different shades even on the presents.

I used on some of the boxes deeper blue and even glittery wrapping papers.
Wrapping paper is the base of the wrapping chore, so I like to give some extra thought about the paper that I will be using to dress the boxes up. I know it can be time-consuming to find all the perfect essentials for the wrapping like paper, ribbons, name tags and extra decorations, so I thought I would be sharing with you all some of my favourite stores.
I typically get the wrapping paper from Clintons, HomeSense or Marks and Spencer but this year I added some other stores to my shopping list like Ikea, B&M and Next.
I tend to buy more paper that I will be using so I always end up with a lot of rolls in our storage from last year's Christmas.

Aliexpress is an online Chinese website that I tend to use a lot for ribbons and any extra decorations for my presents. Like brooches, stickers, bows, artificial flowers and feathers.
Due to the shipping time, I buy everything in advance this way I know everything should arrive before the holidays. Whether I'm after something classy, simple or extra that year to decorate my presents, I always find everything on this website on a super low price.
All the extra decorations that you can see on these presents are from Aliexpress.
I like to go all out and add extra meaningful touches to my presents, but I like to keep the budget as low as possible because I tend to spend more on the gift itself.

To show your creativity off, you can use ribbons so many different ways on your presents.
Instead of the traditional standard crossing around the box, make a bow out of it, you can try to weave the ribbons. It's super simple. Click here for a tutorial.

Whoever the gift is for, there is a unique wrapping technique they will love, almost as much as the gift you give them so don't forget to give some extra time to your wrapping game belive me it will worth it all at the end.
