Fancy gift wrap is expensive, and when I already spent good amount money on the actual gift inside the box, I try to keep the wrapping cost low especially during holiday seasons as there are so much more things to buy. Even though it's not Christmas time, there are so many other holidays to splurge on. Mother's day and Father's day just gone by, my dad's birthday is coming up as well as our anniversary just around the corner. It all adds up so of course even me who likes to go out on every present I give to my loved ones to make sure they are unique I try to keep the wrapping budget as low as possible. Luckily, there are plenty of ways to make your gifts appear both unique and luxurious without spending a large number of pounds.
So, let me show you how I make my gift wrapping look luxurious on a budget.
1) Simple wrapping paper
While I was a kid I preferred the colourful, Disney styled wrapping paper over the simple one coloured, nowadays it's actually the opposite.
I like to keep it simple, one coloured paper.
I often use kraft brown, black or white wrapping paper.
If the background is simple, you can add as much as bling you want to it to make it look luxurious and special.
2) Quality Ribbons
Fine quality ribbons can be a bit pricey, but they elevate every gift.
When we are out shopping, I usually find some beautiful ribbons on sale, especially after the holiday season.
I literally never buy them at full price. Keep your eyes out.
Eventually, you will end up with a nice collection.
3) Extra touches
Adding an extra "something" to the outside of a gift is literally could be called my "move".
I never miss a little something out.
I like to play with artificial or even real flowers, brochures, wax seals, during Christmas candies and ornaments.
4) Tissue paper
Even the word sounds fancy for me.
I always use tissue paper no matter if I'm making a boxed gift or just a simple gift bag I always tend to put some tissue paper around the wrapped gift just to make it look more precious.
5.) Gift bags
Time to time, I like to use a simple gift bag with some tissue paper or Santa style sacks during the holidays.
Practical for awkwardly shaped gifts as well as keeping it special.
6) Scent
I love potpourri. I often make my own and store them in jars to make sure not to lose the smell when I need them.
I usually spread some in the gift box before wrapping or drop some in the gift bags.
7) Labels
Labels are just as important as the actual gifts as nobody wants to end up giving the gift that you bought for your boyfriend instead of your dad, right? Or maybe it's just me.haha
